The Hollars Movie
Once again, Jackson, MS has been chosen as another set location for an upcoming film. Jackson native Tate Taylor, director of the film “The Help” and latest “Get On Up,” truely sees stardom in his hometown city. Actor and director of “The Hollars” film, John Krasinski, must share a similar vision in the city of Jacksons’ screen potential.
“The Hollars” producer Tom Rice described the comedic film as,” blending the emotion of Steel Magnolia’s with the youth-oriented relevance of Garden State.” John Krasinski will star as the main character, a New York artist who has to return home when his mother requires brain surgery. Pitch Perfect actresss, Anna Kendrick, will play Krasinski’s girlfriend as he reconnects with old and quirky family and friends. “This is one of the best scripts I’ve read, period,” Krasinski says in a statement reported by Screen International. “James has written one of the most tough-minded, sweet, funny and accurate stories about family I’ve seen. I am lucky to have a script like this to direct… and to have this cast is simply surreal.”
The film is set to begin shooting very soon. “The Hollars” can join the list of set located Jackson, MS movies such as: “O, Brother Where Art Thou, My Dog Skip, A Time to Kill, The Help, and Get on Up.” The Belhaven district and city of Fondren are thrilled that their small town is to represent another upcoming film. Jacksonian’s are looking forward to “The Hollars” debut.
