Taste of Mississippi

The 27th annual Taste of Mississippi is right around the corner. The event is held by Blue Cross Blue Shield at a premier outdoor shopping center, Highland Village. All proceeds will benefit Stewpot Community Services. This Homegrown Hunger Relief event will bring together dozens of Mississippi chef’s and restaurants to share their culinary favorites. It is the largest tasting event in Jackson, MS. The event has been named a Top 20 Event by the Southeast Tourism Society.
The event includes 40 fine restaurant participants, a silent auction, and live entertainment. The live music for this years Taste of Mississippi is provided by Hunter and the Gators. Tickets are $65 per person and can be purchased online. You may also make a donation to Stewpot on their website. There are over 60 donors for the silent auction this year. There are also a handful of participating beverage vendors. The 5 sponsor groups for the event includes: Title, Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze. There is always an opportunity for volunteers to work the event, found on their website.
The Fairview Inn will be participating again this year, not as Sophia’s Restaurant, but as the new 1908 Provisions. Chef Hawkins and Innkeeper Peter Sharp are thrilled to introduce the renovated restaurant and its concept to the guests of Taste of Mississippi.
